Understanding the Problem. This is the very fundamental step for conquering the problem, especially when you working with your team and your supervisor. Better understanding what the supervisor ask you to do can not only save you a lot of time, but also gave you clear forehead image of what should be doing for the next steps.
-
Gathering information. I seek out relevant documentation, articles, and resources related to the problem. This helps me gain insights into existing solutions, best practices, and potential pitfalls.
-
Breaking it Down: Complex technical problems can often be overwhelming. I break them down into smaller, more manageable sub-problems. This makes it easier to tackle each component one at a time.
-
Prototyping and Testing: When applicable, I create prototypes or proofs of concept to test different approaches. This allows for early validation of ideas and helps identify potential issues before committing to a full solution
-
Consulting and Collaboration: Again, I think communication is the most important thing when you work in a team. I'm not hesitant to seek help or collaborate with colleagues or experts who may have experience with similar problems. And I will talk with my supervisor all the time to keep him/her on track of what am I doing.
-
Testing and Quality Assurance: I rigorously test the solution, looking for both expected and unexpected outcomes. This includes debugging and ensuring the solution meets the defined objectives and criteria
-
Continuous Learning: Finally, I view each new technical problem as an opportunity for growth and learning. I remain curious and open to acquiring new skills, tools, and knowledge that can be applied to future challenges. I have the habit of writing my tech blog and document the tech problems I met daily. It not only helps me memorize but also attract people who is interested in the same field and help me grow faster in this field.
