Mini pcie card | QCA9880, QCA9882 and MT7915 wireless local network (WLAN) 2.4 G / 5 G / 6 G radio

qca9880.png The QCA9880 and QCA9882 are wireless local area network (WLAN) chips from Qualcomm that support Wi-Fi connections. They differ in several ways, including the following:

Supported frequency bands: QCA9880 supports two frequency bands of 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz, while QCA9882 supports three frequency bands of 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz and 60 GHz.

Supported protocols: QCA9880 supports 802.11a/b/g/n protocols, while QCA9882 supports 802.11a/b/g/n/ac protocols, which are more advanced and comprehensive.

Maximum Speed: The maximum wireless transmission speed of QCA9880 is 1300 Mbps, while the maximum wireless transmission speed of QCA9882 is 1700 Mbps, which has a higher speed.

Antenna interface: QCA9880 and QCA9882 are slightly different in antenna interface, QCA9880 supports 3x3 antenna interface, while QCA9882 supports 2x2 antenna interface.

QCA9880 solution:

802.11a: Supports the 5 GHz frequency band with a maximum transmission rate of 54 Mbps;

802.11b: Supports 2.4 GHz frequency band with a maximum transmission rate of 11 Mbps;

802.11g: Supports the 2.4 GHz frequency band with a maximum transmission rate of 54 Mbps;

802.11n: Supports 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz frequency bands, with a maximum transmission rate of 450 Mbps;

3x3 antenna configuration is supported.

QCA9882 solution:

802.11a: Supports the 5 GHz frequency band with a maximum transmission rate of 54 Mbps;

802.11b: Supports 2.4 GHz frequency band with a maximum transmission rate of 11 Mbps;

802.11g: Supports the 2.4 GHz frequency band with a maximum transmission rate of 54 Mbps;

802.11n: Supports 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz frequency bands, with a maximum transmission rate of 600 Mbps;

802.11ac: supports 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz frequency bands, with a maximum transmission rate of 1300 Mbps;

Supports 2x2 antenna configuration.

QCA9880, QCA9882 and MT7915 are wireless local area network (WLAN) chips produced by two different chip manufacturers, and there are some differences between them:

Vendor: The QCA9880 and QCA9882 are made by Qualcomm, while the MT7915 is made by MediaTek.

Supported wireless standards: The wireless standards supported by QCA9880 and QCA9882 include 802.11a/b/g/n, and QCA9882 also supports 802.11ac standard. The MT7915 supports 802.11a/b/g/n/ac/ax standards, including the latest Wi-Fi 6E (802.11ax) standard.
